He was recording by age 12 and booking any gig he could get his hands on. After ending a international group contract with Universal last year He kicked off 09 recording for a new album.
geO! is a one name singer/songwriter and It may sound stereotypical for recording artists
but geO was that little kid that ran around his house singing to Michael and Janet Jackson.
Born in New York ge0 was not raised in a family that was in the music business his dad liked to sing and introduced him to artists before his time, "My dad always bought me music of all the current r&b artists 'cause that's what he listened to." He introduced geO to singers of and before geO's generation. "I always remember knowing I wanted to be a singer and feeling like I could make that happen when I was a little kid." His parents were always supportive but weren't stage parents, geO was always independent on his pursuit in music. By 2nd grade geO joined his local school chorus. As he got older singing became more than just a hobby.
By age twelve geO began recording in studios, in hopes of creating a decent demo. In school ge0s focus was geared towards the schools performances and the choir he had joined. He enjoyed performing on stage and having his voice create his identity as the talented student. He did not hesitate in joining a group at the age of fifteen. The group eventually became popular amongst young girls and held many performances. They later made their way to a newspaper article which included other groups such as the ultimate boy band, Nsync. Although things were looking great problems began to arise. The rest of the groups dedication seemed to fade and ge0s devotion only grew stronger.
At that point, their manager was eager to work with ge0 as a solo artist. However, there were many more managers to come along the years, as there were producers, until ge0 finally met with someone who seemed to have the same love for music and hunger for success. ge0 signed with his new managers record label. At this time ge0 was recording up to six times a week. When he was not in the studio recording he was dancing and rehearsing for shows. ge0s performances varied from charity events to popular clubs such as Boulevard, as well as the Puerto Rican day parade, all in which the crowds were screaming his name by the end of each song.
He was featured on 103.5 KTU and for his first album worked with established producers such as John Poppo(NSYNC, Mariah Carey, Madonna, Michael Jackson.)Bert Price(Imajin,Alicia Keys,B2K,Teddy Riley, Johnny Kemp) Tommy Matollas Casa Blanca producer Nyce Boy(j.lo,bow wow) and re-mixes by Anthony Acid
A first single was chosen geO was featured on the 100.3 The beat, his song was put into rotation and he starting creating a buzz, plans for a small club tour were in the works to promote the new single but it was then geO realized that he had different motivations then the team behind him. He separated from his label and was later offered the opportunity to be apart of a new group on Universal Music that would be recreating one of music's biggest boy bands, The New kids on The Block.The project included an album produced by the best in the business, reality show and a promising shot at international success. The project was kept quiet but as the group began rehearsing and recording their album they found out secrets are hard to keep. The members of the original group got wind of this tribute and planned a reunion that would over shadow this recreation. The group was forced to dismantle.
There have been many years of hard work and dedication for geO. He has recorded for many years and is no stranger to a stage and recording studio. He has brought himself back into the studio with a strong team by his side. ge0 is confident, determined and is now more prepared to be part of the Entertainment business. "I'm still the same driven artist with a new view on the music business and now I am ready to conquer it now more then ever!
